Finding Nemo

Last weekend I got the chance to fly to Sydney, New South Wales. Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and was a lot more of a city scene. When I first arrived, I had some doubts of not studying abroad in Sydney rather than Gold Coast.

Although Sydney was a beautiful place to visit, I found myself getting very overwhelmed with the amount of people there. I would compare Sydney to New York. We were able to visit the Opera House, but only had about 1 minute to admire and take pictures before a family came up to us and said “thank you, have a good day” just so they could move us along and take pictures in our place. I also noticed that it was nearly impossible to walk anywhere, so we had to take Ubers a lot. We also explored Boni Beach and had a great lunch right over the famous Bondi Pools.

The feeling of regret of not studying abroad in Sydney was erased by the time it was ready to pack up and head home. I loved Sydney and the beautiful city, but I am more than happy and confident with studying and living in the Gold Coast. I realized I like to live in places that are more mellow, relaxed, and calm.

I didn’t find Nemo in Sydney, but I found out a lot more about myself and what I personally like. Thank you for the unforgettable views and memories, Sydney.
